We're on a mission to raise $10,000 to provide a clean, sustainable water source in Ethiopia that serves over 120 people.
We donate 20% of our profit to the Traveller Collective Water Campaign to help fund our project with charity: water; an amazing non-profit on a mission to bring clean and safe drinking water to people in developing countries. They utilize a 100% Model whereby every dollar donated will go directly into the field to fund water projects.
In order to implement the project, charity: water works very closely with their local partner, the Relief Society of Tigray (REST) who develops locally appropriate solutions to water access, sanitation and hygiene. As much of Ethiopia has a high water table, our project will be a hand-dug well and the community will be heavily involved in the construction process, instilling a strong sense of ownership over the entire project.
- March 2016: $10,000 USD donated to charity:water and REST.
- Summer 2016: REST gets all permits & supplies, picks the location, hires local help and begins work.
- Summer 2017: REST completes status report as project nears completion, the community is trained about their new water source and we receive exact coordinates of the project.
- Winter 2017/18: New water source is active, we receive the final completion report and all the data is verified.
Because water changes everything.
When a community gets access to clean water, it can change just about everything. It can improve health, increase access to food, grow local economies, and help kids spend more time in school.
